Point 660, the Ice Sheet

950 Dkk per person, minimum two persons per tour

This is a tour for you who would love to explore the Greenland ice sheet with your eyes, feet, and curiosity!

Come along on a ~4-hour long trip, on Greenland’s longest road which leads to Point 660, a place recently uncovered by ice and seen by a few.

At Point 660 you will find the most scenic view imaginable of the ice sheet, thousands of years old ice changing every day.

There are about 1.5 hours of driving to Point 660 and on the way, you will listen to stories and tales of Kangerlussuaq and some of its history. And since you are going with a private guide you can always ask the guide to repeat. Or ask any questions you would like.

The tour offers plenty of animal wildlife and big landscapes of nature on the 37-kilometer-long remote dirt road which is also Greenland’s longest road. On this span of landscape, you will have a chance to spot the caribou, musk ox, arctic hare, arctic fox, and lots of birds.

One of the advantages of going with Tundra Adventures is that the tours are in a private 4x4 and not in a crowded bus, so when you step out of the vehicle you will experience total silence with a beautiful view of wild and raw nature.

Be aware that the surface of the ice can be slippery and uneven.

To access the ice sheet you have to ascend and descend icy hills via a curvy path prepared for walking, but not everyone finds it easy. Some people might benefit from bringing hiking poles or wearing spikes/light crampons underneath your soles.

Tundra Adventures is 100 percent local and you support Greenland by choosing Tundra Adventures.
